Roadaoke is an independent application and is not sponsored, endorsed by, or affiliated with Spotify AB or Apple Inc.

To show the right lyrics, Roadaoke reads the title, artist, album, duration and position of the song playing in Spotify (through Spotify's official iOS SDK and Web API) or in Apple's Music app (through iOS's media player). This information is used on your device to find and time the lyrics.

If you connect Spotify, the sign-in happens on Spotify's pages or in the Spotify app. Roadaoke receives an access token, kept on your device, that it uses to read what's playing, to control playback from the app, the Lock Screen and CarPlay, and to show your Spotify profile name and picture in the app. Spotify's own privacy policy applies to your Spotify account.

To download synced lyrics, Roadaoke sends the song's title, artist, album and duration to LRCLIB (lrclib.net), a free community lyrics service.

These requests contain no account, no identifier and no information about you. Like any internet request, they reveal your IP address to the service that answers it. Lyrics you have already downloaded are kept on your device so they work offline.

While a session is running, Roadaoke uses your location for two things: to keep running in the background so the lyrics on the Lock Screen and CarPlay stay in sync, and to count the distance you sing (the "Distance sung" figure in the Stage tab).

Your location is never stored and never sent anywhere. The only thing saved is the total distance, as a number, on your device. You can deny location access: the app still works, but it may pause in the background.

Your stats and diary (songs sung, dates, streaks, levels, distance sung), downloaded lyrics, timing corrections, colors and every other setting are stored only on your device, in the app's own storage. They are not backed up to our servers — we don't have any. Deleting the app deletes them.

The diagnostic log in Settings is also stored only on your device. It leaves the phone only if you choose to share it, for example by email to support.

Roadaoke Pro is sold through the App Store. Payments are handled entirely by Apple: we never see your payment details. The app only asks the App Store whether Pro is unlocked on your Apple Account.

The Roadaoke website (roadaoke.com) does not use any advertising or profiling cookies, and does not track you across other websites. Because we do not store tracking cookies on your device, no cookie consent banner is needed or displayed.

To understand how many visitors reach the site and from which countries in an aggregated, non-identifying manner, we use Vercel Web Analytics. This service does not use cookies, does not store IP addresses or personal data, and complies fully with GDPR.

Our web hosting infrastructure may process standard technical server logs (such as request URL, browser type, and anonymized IP address) solely to deliver pages securely and reliably.

If you choose to sign up for our waitlist to be notified when Roadaoke launches on the App Store (or for TestFlight beta access), we collect your email address with your explicit consent.

We use Resend (resend.com) as our email service provider to securely store waitlist subscriptions and deliver the launch notification. Your email is never used for advertising, marketing campaigns or profiling, and is never shared with or sold to third parties.

We retain your email solely until the app launches, after which it is deleted. You may request the immediate deletion of your email address at any time by writing to [email protected] or by clicking the unsubscribe link in any message you receive.

No third-party advertising SDKs, no tracking across apps or websites, and no data sold or shared with data brokers. Roadaoke does not create accounts and does not collect your name, email or contacts.

Roadaoke is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any personal information from them.

Because Roadaoke keeps your data on your device, you can see and delete it yourself: clear the lyrics cache in Settings, or delete the app to remove everything. If you live in the EU or UK you have rights of access, rectification and erasure under the GDPR; since we hold no personal data about you on any server, there is nothing further to hand over, but you can always write to [email protected].

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority (such as the Italian Garante per la Protezione dei Dati Personali - garanteprivacy.it).

If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with a new date. Significant changes will also be mentioned in the app's release notes.
